Commission Meeting Open to Public

Oakland voters approved Measure NN in November 2024 to continue a parcel tax to provide ongoing funding for the Oakland Police Department, the Oakland Department of Violence Prevention, and the Oakland Fire Department. The City Council adopted a resolution creating a five-member commission, called the Oakland Public Safety Planning and Oversight Commission, to create a four-year violence prevention plan and allocate the money generated by the parcel tax. This new commission will have its first public meeting on April 28 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
