The Maxwell Park Neighborhood Council
was established on June 3rd, 1998.
Since then, we have worked to build a socially cohesive and vibrant community by promoting trust, respect, and understanding.

Meet Oakland Police Chief James Beere at our next MPNC general meeting!

On September 9, the Maxwell Park Neighborhood Council will host a general meeting, open to the public. Our featured speaker is Oakland’s new Chief of Police, James Beere. Chief Beere recently stated that he “embraces meaningful civilian oversight and constitutional policing; values collaboration with neighborhoods, businesses, and faith leaders; and is fully prepared to lead on day one

We have asked the Chief to discuss his plans for our city, and there will also be an opportunity for community members to ask questions about issues facing Maxwell Park residents.

Our City Council representative and Council President Kevin Jenkins will update us on  any important issues facing Oakland in addition to any community events of interest.

The meeting is virtual and takes place on September 9 at 7pm. Please register for the event below.

Join us on September 12 for a Day in the Park!

If you're not familiar, this neighborhood-wide community event was held for nearly 15 years on the second Saturday of September, and that tradition is back on September 12, in a new format!
