New MPNC Board Members!

The MPNC is thrilled to welcome Shilpa Duvoor and Perri Franskoviak to the MPNC Board. Shilpa was voted in as a Member-At-Large during the March 12, 2025 elections. Perri has been voted in by the Board – per MPNC bylaws – to fill the vacant Board Secretary position. Below, a few words from each of them. Thank you, Shilpa and Perri!

Shilpa:
"I moved to Maxwell Park in 2023, and love how friendly everyone is! I immediately felt so welcome in my new neighborhood. There is always something going on – from Halloween at Camden to National Night Out to locally hosted wine tastings – that it truly feels like a community. I joined the Maxwell Park Neighborhood Council so that I could be more informed, help tackle issues that affect all of us, and help organize events to continue building on the strong tradition of community that already exists here. You can find me at the face painting booth on Camden St. on Halloween without fail every year."

Perri:
"I got involved with the Board of the Maxwell Park Neighborhood Council because of Trump. No, really. I was feeling deeply disheartened, frustrated, and powerless about the direction in which we're moving, and the more I thought about the state of the world, I realized that one thing I could do would be to get involved in a context in which I have an opportunity to influence it. I love Maxwell Park and I especially love the block I live on. I have the best neighbors in the world and I want our neighborhood to be a place where folks can feel safe and look around and see something beautiful. Sure, I have my pet peeves about the neighborhood, many of which I'm guessing my neighbors throughout the 'hood share, but rather than complain I decided to get involved. This is an experiment for me, and I'll let you know how it goes!"
